The star tweeted that Earl Simmons, known as DMX,is dead, prompting outrage from Twitter users.

On April, 6, 2021, Jordan thought rapper DMX had died and tweeted "Rest in Paradise DMX"along with a crown and a praying emoji.

Her tweet caused a lot of confusion among fans who brutally criticised her as the 50-year old rapper is alive, albeit in critical condition in hospital following a drug overdose.

Twitter users were furious over her premature tweet, when the man's family are praying for his recovery.

After prematurely announcing the star's death, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta member faced backlash from enraged fans.

Upon realising her mistake, Jordan deleted the tweet that made fans wonder if DMX was dead indeed.

She then apologised by posting another tweet saying "I'm sorry."

A Twitter user commented that the actress probably thought that the media had announced that DMX had passed away.

Jordan confirmed that was the case and responded by saying she feels "awful."

When another Twitter user told her it was a mistake and she should not feelbad, Jordan responded: "Yeah I know but didn’t intend on hurting anyone or doing anything wrong.

"I understand how people are feeling as I am too. It’s been heavy on my mind since he fell ill.

"But they’re right. Not my place. I just want to pray for the whole family & all his supporters that are in pain."

What happened to DMX?

Rapper DMX is in hospital in New York, fighting for his life after suffering a heart attack following a drug overdose on Friday April 2, 2021.

He remains in a coma and his condition has not "materially changed," his manager Steve Rifkind told TMZ.

He added that DMX will undergo a series of tests on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, to determine the level of his brain function.

A family member told TMZ that paramedics tried resuscitating him for 30 minutes.

During that time he was deprived of oxygen, potentially impacting his brain, according to his doctors.

An official statement from DMX's representative on April 4, 2021, confirmed the rapper was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home.

The statement reads: "Last night Earl 'DMX' Simmons was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home.

"At this time he remains in ICU in critical condition. Earl has been a warrior his entire life.

"This situation represents yet another road he must conquer.

"The Simmons Family appreciates the overwhelming outpouring of heartfelt love, encouragement, support and prayers for Earl.

"Earl is someone whose life and music have been a source of inspiration and strength to so many people around the world.

"It is reassuring to see his fans return that same passion and energy to him during his time of need."
