Yasmeen Nazir’s (Shelley King) trial is well on its way in Coronation Street but just when it seemed like he could do no worse, Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) manages to sabotage her attempt at justice yet again.
When the legal fees pile up, Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) suggests that she should sell the house and as Alya (Sair Khan) starts looking into it, Gary Windass (Mikey North) is quick to make them an offer as he continues to work with Ray Crosby (Mark Frost).
But Alya is about to make a crushing discovery – Geoff has obliterated Yasmeen’s credit report by taking out a number of loans in her name and putting her in debt.
As Alya breaks the news, Yasmeen also admits that she gave Geoff half of the house, meaning that she can’t sell up without his permission.
With Geoff effectively able to hold Yasmeen’s money from the house hostage if he doesn’t sell up, he takes great delight in not co-operating with Alya and she starts to lose hope.
With Yasmeen staring at a jail sentence and a smug Geoff busy wining and dining a new girlfriend, Yasmeen fears that she will rot.
But one thing she has on her side is the truth, so perhaps Geoff shouldn’t get smug just yet. Coronation Street has revealed that the trial will come to a dramatic end this December – and we reckon Geoff may have that smug smirk wiped off his face at long last.
