EastEnders: Linda clashes with Elaine over the pub
Bond star Colin Salmon will make his debut on Albert Square tonight as former boxer and friend of Phil Mitchell’s (played by Steve McFadden) George Knight.
George’s arrival on the square will see him help run the Queen Vic pub after Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) recently found out her mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) was co-owner.
Colin joined Good Morning Britain presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard on Thursday morning to chat about his arrival on the Square.
Discussing how one scene saw him making a speech to the cast, he said: “It’s a bit daunting actually.
“Because in one of my first scenes, I am making a speech to the whole cast. And I was a bit nervous actually. But they were sitting there looking at me with open hearts and support.”

Ben joked of a feud as he jibed: “Ah they’re not sitting there going ‘come on Hollywood’?” leaving Colin to reply: “Well maybe one or two of them. But we will give them time.”
Hinting that his comment of a feud was a joke, he then let out a giggle and they continued their conversation.
Asked why he had taken the role, Colin added: “I can’t be far from home. It’s a no-brainer. The universe has been really kind.”
In scenes that air tonight, George introduces himself as Elaine’s fiance and explains that he, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) have come from Marbella to help Elaine run The Vic.

Linda is furious when she realises that Elaine’s plan all along was to invite her new man and his family to take over The Vic.
It doesn’t take long for George to make an enemy of Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) who soon understands that this isn’t a man to be messed with.
Back at The Vic, George assures Linda that he doesn’t want to cause trouble with anyone and just wants to build a new life in Walford with Elaine and his girls.
It isn’t just George who causes a stir, as Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) sets his sights on the Knight girls and is immediately smitten.

Seeing how attached Bobby will become to the girls, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) is less than keen and snaps at Anna and Gina when they bring their pet chihuahua into the café.
The girls continue to make enemies when they try to kick off a party at The Vic to celebrate their arrival.
This doesn’t go down well with the pub’s punters, who are still in shock at Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) death. Can the Knight family win over their new neighbours?
Eastenders airs weeknights from 7:30pm on BBC One.
