CORONATION Street star Melissa Johns is joining the Celebrity MasterChef line up.
The actress, who played Imogen Pascoe in the ITV soap, is joining Katie Price, 42, and Joe Swash, 39, on the BBC cooking competition.
Melissa, who was born without a right forearm and hand, found fame on the Cobbles in 2017 and went on to play Hannah Taylor in BBC hit drama Life in August last year.
Now she’s swapping acting for cooking and is hoping to wow Gregg Wallace, 56, and John Torode, 55.
An insider said: “Melissa is a novice in the kitchen but can’t wait to get started on the show.
“She’s admitted that while she’s nervous and starting the competition she’s planning on giving it her all and will embrace every challenge thrown at her.
“Melissa is in good company with Joe and Katie – the line up is already proving to be brilliant.”
The Sun exclusively revealed Katie and Joe had signed up to the show earlier this week.
Filming for the show started this week, with the show expected to air in March.
Melissa, 31, left Coronation Street in 2019 after her character’s on-off relationship with Kate Connor broke down for good.
She is an ambassador for disability in the arts and was named as on the U.K’s 100 most influential disabled people.
Riyadh Khalaf, 30, was the winner of the last series of Celebrity Masterchef last June.
He beat finallists Sir Matthew Pinsent, 50, and Sam Quek, 32, to the top prize.
Speaking after his win, Riyadh said: “This show I have been watching since I was in school and to have gone from being a fan of the show to winning the thing.
“This is without a doubt the biggest achievement of my life.”
