Queen drummer Roger Taylor releases NEW music video for his single Isolation – WATCH

After touring across parts of Asia and Oceania at the start of the year, Queen and Adam Lambert were set to embark on their UK and European leg this summer. However, the coronavirus pandemic saw those dates postponed to 2021. Instead, the band have been in lockdown, but that hasn’t stopped their creative juices flowing.

For instance, Queen drummer Roger Taylor wrote and released a new solo single earlier this month.

Isolation reflects on the difficult times the world is currently living through in the pandemic.

And today, the 70-year-old debuted an accompanying animated music video of the song.

Isolation was written in his Cornwall garden shed and the video “reflects on marking time in isolation as clocks tick and their hands turn and TV footage shows an endless tide of information as the world adjusts to these strange times of Covid-19.”

Last month, Taylor spoke with Express.co.uk concerning the

Rock chart-topping song and how it came about.

The 70-year-old told Express.co.uk: “We were in beautiful Cornwall, which is a great place to be isolated.

“We had plenty of space, but y’know like everybody else we had the same anxieties and uncertainties about what was happening.

“I started off by doing drum lessons for beginners out of my basement in Cornwall and that kept me occupied.”

The Queen drummer continued: “And then I was sitting in my garden shed and wrote the song.

“It’s really a reflection of what it was like sitting in isolation.”

On his calm and smooth track, the Queen drummer reflected: “Time’s been slowing up and you have to fill your day literally.

“You sort of devise a routine.”

He added: “It’s a really odd situation that almost everyone has found themselves in unless, of course, you happen to be a frontline NHS worker in which case it would have been a right old worry.”

Meanwhile, Taylor teased plans for a Queen and Adam Lambert live album.

The 70-year-old said: “What we are thinking about is releasing a live album.

“We had a big thing on YouTube the other night and it went down very well.”

Taylor was referring to Queen and Adam Lambert’s Tour Watch Party, which streamed on their official YouTube channel for 24 hours in June.

He added: “So we thought, well, maybe there’s a live album of highlights of concerts that we’ve done over the last eight years with Adam Lambert.

“And I think it would make a very nice live album.

“So we’re really thinking about that actually.”
