Man Utd 'delighted' by Franck Kessie free transfer and hope to steal AC Milan midfielder from Real Madrid and Barcelona

MANCHESTER UNITED will be able to sign AC Milan star Frank Kessie on a free transfer next summer, according to reports.

There has been considerable speculation about the midfielder's future with Kessie yet to agree a new deal.

It has been reported that Milan are yet to meet Kessie's wage demands of £150,000 a week, according to Fichajes.

Instead, the Italian giants are offering a salary of around £100,000.

The report suggests United are still in the race for Kessie, with the free transfer possibility said to be "delighting" the Red Devils.

But it may not be straightforward for the club to complete a deal with Barcelona and Real Madrid also believed to be interested.

Arsenal and Paris St Germain are reportedly targeting Kessie too so the Cote d'Ivoire international could have multiple offers to consider over the next few months.

Tottenham could also be prepared to make a move since Antonio Conte is a big fan of Kessie – having launched a transfer bid to sign him while Inter manager.

United could have the financial upper hand however as Paul Pogba's wages could be freed up by next summer.

The club are happy to let Pogba run his contract down and could even leave him out of the team when he comes back from injury.

United have also been linked with Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni with one France international possibly replacing another.
