Phillips impressed last season as stand-in for Liverpool but his future remains up in the air.

The 24-year-old is wanted by Burnley and Brighton with a move away from Anfield looking increasingly likely.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool will demand £15m to offload the defender this summer.

Jurgen Klopp's side recently strengthened their squad by signing RB Leipzig defender Konate.

Liverpool will also be boosted by the return of Van Dijk next season after his recovery from the ACL knee injury as well as Joe Gomez and Joel Matip from their own long-term issues.

Phillips, who enjoyed a loan spell with Stuttgart in the second half of the 2019-20 season, made 20 appearances during the 2020-21 campaign.

He scored a vital goal in the 3-0 win away at Turf Moor in May as he helped Liverpool secure Champions League football.

But he is likely to find himself down the pecking order at Anfield again and may decide a move is the best decision for his career.
