Photos have emerged of Phillip Schofield and the young colleague with whom he had an "unwise but not illegal" affair celebrating This Morning's win on-stage at the National Television Awards in 2018.
The photo was taken after Phillip, now 61, and his ITV colleagues, including the young runner, took to the stage to receive the award for Best Daytime Show.
Unearthed snaps from the televised show see Holly Willougby accepting the award and giving a speech as Phillip looks over his shoulder at his young lover.
Since the emergence of these photos, a former ITV Daytime production member said that the young runner's presence on the stage raised questions at the time.
They told The Sun: "He was on stage at the NTAs. Usually that's something that only the presenters and most senior execs get to do. Most crew are either at the back of the arena or even watching the ceremony at another bar. It was all very odd."
The emergence of the photos comes after ITV admitted that they investigated rumours of a romance back in 2020 – but that both parties “categorically and repeatedly denied” it.
Phillip later confessed to the affair just days after stepping down from his presenting role at This Morning, and has since been removed from all ITV shows and dropped by his talent agency YMU.
It has since been reported that the pair first met when Phillip was giving a talk at a theatre school when the TV presenter was in his late 40s, and the boy was 15.
The outlet reported that it years later, the younger man joined the production team on This Morning when Phillip was in his early 50s and their relationship developed from a friendship to an affair.
Following Phillip's statement admitting to the affair, ITV released their own statements criticising the presenter for his "deceit" during the prior investigation.
A spokesperson for the TV network said that they were "not provided with, and did not find, any evidence of a relationship beyond hearsay and rumour" when it looked into the matter in 2020.
They continued: "Phillip’s statement yesterday reveals that he lied to people at ITV, from senior management to fellow presenters, to YMU, to the media and to others over this relationship."
The broadcaster also said it was “deeply disappointed” by the “admissions of deceit” by Phillip after he spoke publicly about the affair.
"The relationships we have with those we work with are based on trust. Phillip made assurances to us which he now acknowledges were untrue and we feel badly let down."
