Miranda Lambert‘s husband Brendan McLoughlin has retired from NYPD and will now works as the singer’s security guard.
According to Fox News, a media spokesperson for the NYPD confirmed McLoughlin’s departure. “His current duty status is retired,” said Sergeant Jessica McRorie, an NYPD DCPI spokesperson.
McLoughlin retired from the police force this month. Prior to his exit, the country star’s husband had taken a months-long leave of absence from the department beginning last summer.
According to the report, McLoughlin has joined Lambert’s security detail for her Wildcard tour meet and greets. McLoughlin previously joined Lambert on her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour this past fall.
