Strictly Come Dancing heartthrob Giovanni Pernice, 30, took to Instagram to address Janette Manrara’s exciting announcement last night. Posting to the social media platform, the 37-year-old revealed that she was leaving the BBC dance show in order to host it’s spin-off, It Takes Two, following Zoe Ball’s announcement that she was stepping down last month.

Reposting the star’s announcement, the Italian dance professional added his own congratulatory message.

“Proud of my sister,” he wrote alongside three heart emojis, which Janette soon reposted it to her own stories.

Yesterday the star’s Slovenian husband Aljaz Skorjanec soon took to social media to break his silence on her announcement.

Aljaz had nothing but praise for his wife after she announced she would be quitting the BBC show to become the new host of the spin-off programme.

In an emotional address to his fellow dancer, he shared his excitement to sit opposite the love of his life next series.

He penned: “My @jmanrara is the new host of #strictlyittakestwo with @rylan.

“Beyond Happy for you!!! Can’t wait to sit on that sofa… @bbcstrictly.”

He ended his tribute with an inspirational quote: “Ps. ‘All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them’ – Walt Disney.”

His post comes after Janette announced her career move on The One Show yesterday, as well as revealing all on social media.

Sitting on the green sofa, she addressed replacing the BBC Radio DJ: “One of my favourite parts of doing Strictly was always to sit down on that couch and just chat away.

“That was fun and I remember meeting Zoe and thinking, ‘This is the coolest job ever. You get to sit down and talk about dancing and make people feel good’,” she revealed.

Janette continued: “I did say, ‘One day I would love to do that’, and here we are,” she added, telling viewers she would be sharing duties with Rylan Clark-Neal.

Going on to discuss her exit from the dance floor, she explained with an emotional tone in her voice: “I will not be dancing.

“I don’t want to well up because I’ve been welling up a lot today but that has been the hardest part of accepting this amazing honour.”

“I will not be on that legendary Strictly dance floor anymore but I feel this is the most beautiful and natural progression,” she continued.

Taking to social media, Janette also addressed her career move in a candid post.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining @rylan on #ItTakesTwo this series!” she wrote.

“A show where we can sit and talk about dancing?!? It’s the dream!”

Janette continued: “I can never replace the legendary @zoetheball, but I can only hope to make her as well as all of the @bbcstrictly fans proud.”

The star went on to reveal that the “hardest” part of leaving as a dancer will be saying goodbye to her fellow colleagues.

Janette signed off the post: “And do not worry guys, I will always ‘keeeeeeeeeeeep dancing’! It Takes Two… baby!”(sic)
