Denise Van Outen gutted by Eddies new betrayal: Hes put the final nail in the coffin

Actress Denise Van Outen has endured her fair share of heartache in recent months following her turbulent split from ex-fiance Eddie Boxshall.

The Only Way Is Essex voiceover star, 47, confirmed that she and Eddie, 46, had parted ways in January after rumours that Eddie had been unfaithful.

And last week, Denise's former flame and commodities trader Eddie – whom she regularly appeared alongside on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox – issued a public apology to her after news emerged that he had frequently messaged other women during their relationship.

Despite insisting he was "deeply sorry" for "breaking her trust", a source close to mum-of-one Denise has now revealed that the former EastEnders star is humiliated by Eddie's actions.

"She's embarrassed," a source told OK! "She's got over him because she knows he's a wrong'un but it still hurts."

They added: "He has put the final nail in the coffin now… she'll never want to talk to him again."

In the months following their bitter split, Denise has spoken out about the end of their seven year-long romance, recently telling OK!Eddie "ruined" their relationship "in a few selfish moments".

Denise who shares daughter Betsy, 11 with ex Lee Mead, wrote in her new autobiography A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back that she asked herself whether or not she could brush Eddie’s actions under the carpet.

She told OK! "I’ve got too much self-respect and I just can’t live like that. I felt like, in a few selfish moments, he’d ruined it.

"I couldn’t imagine it ever feeling the same."

Last week, Eddie told The Sun: "I hurt Denise, I broke her trust and I’m deeply sorry.

"I’m sitting here to say I hold my hands up to what I’ve done wrong. I deeply regret that I sent those messages.

"I’ve tried to apologise to Denise. I’ve sent her untold messages on text, on email, saying that I love her and that I’m sorry for what I’ve done — that I’m embarrassed and I’m ashamed."

Eddie – who is set to be replaced by Denise's friend, Blue singer Duncan James on the upcoming series of Gogglebox – also admitted to using alcohol to handle the stress and heartache of their break-up.

"I knew my actions had broken us," he continued. "But I still hoped that our seven-year relationship was strong enough to withstand a mistake I made at a very dark time in my life. As far as Denise is concerned, the trust between us is broken and I have to respect that."

Their split came after Steph's Packed Lunch stand-in-host Denise had come across a series of questionable photographs on Eddie's iPad – one of him posed alongside an ex-girlfriend, and another of a woman's cleavage.

Eddie – who has vehemently denied all accusations of infidelity – insisted the photo with his former girlfriend was taken at a chance meeting and saved accidentally.

He also claimed the image of cleavage had been sent to him by another woman, but that he had not asked to receive it.

OK! approached Denise's representative for a comment on this.
